Our client, a well-established company in the property management sector, is seeking a talented Accounting Assistant to join their growing finance team. This position is ideal for candidates looking for a stable, long-term opportunity with exposure to a range of accounting and payroll functions.

Job Description :


This position will involve processing invoices, managing accounts payable, handling payroll, and assisting with tax and financial reporting duties. The Accounting Assistant will work directly with management and the Controller to ensure that financial operations run smoothly and accurately.

Key Responsibilities :

• Process vendor invoices and ensure alignment with purchase orders using Nexus software.
• Coordinate and manage vendor payments.
• Review and post invoices, working with management to resolve discrepancies.
• Reconcile accounts payable records to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
• Maintain organized and accessible A/P files.
• Support payroll processing for employees, including maintaining records and time-off requests in ADP Workforce Now.
• Manage monthly tenant payments and prepare Use & Occupancy tax filings.
• Collect and input tenant sales data into MRI property management software and Excel.
• Assist with preparing quarterly and annual tenant sales reports.
• Assist with special financial projects, analysis, and administrative duties as needed by management.

Qualifications :

• 2-3 years of accounting experience preferred, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Familiarity with MRI and Nexus software is a plus.
• Proficient in Excel and comfortable with data entry.
• Prior experience with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now is beneficial.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive problem-solving attitude.

Additional Details :

• Work Schedule : Full-time, on-site, Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM
• Office Environment : Business casual dress code, small office of 10-12 people
• Reports To : Accounting Manager
• Parking : Free on-site parking with shuttle service
