As a Boat Sales Associate at M&M Marine, you will be responsible for consistently meeting or surpassing sales objectives while helping our customers make an informed purchase decision to meet their needs. Thanks to our relationship with Freedom Boat Club of Greater Boston and Cape Cod, M&M Marine has exclusive access to a vast selection of late model pre-owned vessels ranging in size from 18-26 feet. In addition, we are a full-service dealer for Key West and Defiance Boats.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prospect, identify and pursue potential customers
- Maintain a strong understanding of products sold in dealership and sales department process
- Greet customers that enter showroom, outside sales lot or sales leads via internet or phone. Assist customer in locating product, and help qualify customer based on needs, wants and budget
- Maintain inventory and sales information spreadsheets and dealership management system, maintain website and related sites on which company information resides and help keep photographs and videos of inventory current
- Explain features and benefits of product, answer customer questions
- Maintain awareness of advertised items, current pricing structures and promotions.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of purchase and sales contracts as well as listing and deposit requirements
- Ensuring sold boats and trailers are prepared for customer pick-up
- Transport new and preowned vessels for sales department as needed
- Sea trial new and preowned vessels with potential customers
- Perform closing paperwork and vessel walk through (ensuring that the customer understands the vessels operation, features, and paperwork) with customer on delivery day
- Assist customers in hitching/unhitching boats during customer pickup and drop off
- Maintain complete confidentiality of all sensitive & personal information
- Assist customers in accessory sales as needed
- Generate and manage leads and prospects in company Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software on a daily basis, specifically entering new customers and conducting and documenting follow up activities and daily tasks with customers before and after the sale
- Assist Management Team in preparation and implementation of a sales and marketing plan
- Participate in boat shows and company sponsored events
- Attend sales training as required by supervisor
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
REQUIREMENTS:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Professional appearance
- Knowledge of boats, engines, trailers and boating accessories and ability to tow and operate a boat of up to 30 feet in length
- Strong organizational, time management and computer skills (MS 365,) Experience with Salesforce preferred, but not required.
- Be team-oriented, self-motivated, and process driven
- Strong communication and closing skills
- Ability to calculate figures such as discounts and percentages
- Willingness to work weekends and occasional nights
- Have a valid state drivers license
- Must be able to pass Department of Transportation physical to operate a commercial vehicle
- Prior direct or vehicle dealership sales experience preferred but not required
