As an Education Guide you will be responsible for leading small groups of Guests through a variety of animal and nature-based tour experiences, both onstage and backstage, at locations across Walt Disney World, including Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and Epcot.
You will report to the Education Manager.
This is a Part-time role.
You will host Guests while sharing stories of animal care and conservation efforts taking place around the world. These tours may also include elements such as food & beverage offerings, photography, guest transportation and visiting backstage animal areas. You will maintain a high regard to safety at all times including supervising the use of safety equipment. Leading these tours, you will deliver an outstanding Disney experience using your personal and dynamic style all while you are responsible for crafting a premium level Guest experience from check-in to departure.
Ability to excel in a very dynamic, fast-paced, diverse and team-oriented environment
Proven strong Guest service skills with a focus on The Five Keys
Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk/stand for long periods of time outdoors on uneven terrain and in all weather conditions
Full availability with flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays
A valid U.S driver’s license for a minimum of five years and ability to acquire a FL driver’s license
Operating a company vehicle, including a 15-passenger van and mini-bus, is required for this role
Must pass a Disney Department of Transportation Compliance Driver’s Record background check and Company Driving Tests
Successful completion of Fall Protection Authorized User training
Ability to optimally complete Basic First Aid and CPR training
Comfortable standing in up to 4 ft of water
Ability to use reservation booking systems
Ability to demonstrate strong facilitation and presentation skills
Experience leading guided tours
Experience working with the public in a formal or informal learning setting (i.e. classroom, zoo, aquarium, museum, or science center).
Experience delivering animal content and conservation messaging
Proficient in multiple languages
Minimum of six months Walt Disney World experience
Completed College course work in Biology, Zoology, Environmental Education, Environmental Science, Elementary/Secondary Education, or a related field is required
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is preferred
