Job Summary

Candidates should possess strong observational skills to identify plant stress or unusual growth patterns, along with a commitment to safety and quality results. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Outlook is essential, as is the ability to adapt to team priorities. The position may also involve weekend responsibilities. Typically, the Greenhouse Worker reports to a supervisor or manager and relies on established guidelines for performing their tasks safely.

Job Description

• Perform duties in a greenhouse environment such as seeding, watering, thinning of plants, moving of plants and assist with spraying of plants.
• Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a greenhouse environment. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job safely.
• Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
• Must be able to lift to 35 lb.

Skills Required

• Ability to manage exposure to dust, pollen and work in elevated temperatures.
• Ability to work extended time on your feet, weekend responsibilities possible.
• Knowledge of various aspects of growing and maintaining plants, including weeds and crops is highly desired.
• This individual must possess good observational skills, be familiar with plant needs and be able to recognize stress or unusual growth conditions.
• A high degree of diligence, and accuracy is required to achieve high quality results in a safe and prudent manner.
• Candidates must be flexible and adaptable, to respond to team priorities.
• Familiarity and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook is required as is the ability to learn and use other computer databases and programs.

Education/Training/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, agronomy, or related field preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to pass drug screen & criminal background check
• Worker Shift Start Time - 08:00 AM

Pay Rate/Salary

• Estimated Salary: $17.00 to $28.50 per hour based on qualifications.
