Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

The Event Manager is responsible for, but not limited to, selling and servicing events. Primary sales efforts are in Banquet Food and Beverage and includes menu planning, agenda setting, and hotel meeting services. Duties also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during, and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service. Previous hotel event sales experience required. This position involves small Event Sales.

The Event Manager also hosts hotel tours, maintain strong customer relationships, participate and may lead event & other staff meetings, and work as a team member with Sales and Events Staff. The Manager also works closely with an assigned Administrative Assistant and other support staff.

· Primary focus is to increase revenues and profits by generating social and corporate business through proactive sales efforts.

· The successful candidate will proactively pursue leads and maintain existing client relationships.

· Utilize your sales savvy and hospitality expertise to develop and maintain knowledge of market trends, competition, and customers.

· Possess outstanding leadership, organizational skills, strong yield and revenue management skills, a guest service focus, a team orientation and a passion for Sales. In addition to your selling skills, we need creativity, motivation, and dedication for this position.

· Communicate regularly with key wedding planners, social contacts, and other hospitality professionals to establish strong relationships.

· Responsible for monthly/quarterly and annual banquet and catering forecasting.

· Maximize use of all available hotel space to generate food, beverage and rental revenues.

· Provide accurate and concise information for reporting and all departments with regard to group needs. These documents include Banquet Event Orders, resumes, forecasting, and internal communications. Maintain proper documentation changes and special requests. Manages function details to ensure complete satisfaction and repeat business.

· Exceed client satisfaction by anticipating problems and needs & delivering high levels of service.

· Review event bills for accuracy and approve payment.

· Conduct post-event evaluations in order to determine future improvement.

· Previous catering sales experience with track record of accomplishments is required.

· Maintains a professional image at all times through appearance and attire.

· Must possess exceptional customer service and a high sense of urgency.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

· A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.

· Refined verbal and written communication skills.

· Must be proficient in general computer knowledge.

· Candidates should be extremely detailed oriented and organized.

·3-5 years of solid Catering Sales experience preferred.
