About The Role
We are seeking a talented and creative Designer who is responsible for designing products for our valued customers. This role reports directly to the Design Manager and is part of the Design department in the New York metropolitan area. Our NYC office utilizes a hybrid-remote operational model where employees are required to commute to the office one time per week and as needed thereafter.
About You
You have a strong eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and digital design experience in the industry. You are able to learn systems and technology quickly and handle a fast-paced environment. You have the desire to grow and develop as a skilled member of the Design team. You are able to collaborate with others while working remotely or in the office.
What You Will Do
As a Designer your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the preparation of customer meetings by conducting product and design research and creating customized boards using computer-aided design software for presentations.
Data Entry and Systems
- Develop and create designs for our products that meet the needs of our target market.
- Research and identify current trends and incorporate them into design concepts.
- Create technical drawings and boards using samples and specifications for sample production using CAD.
- Use CAD to create simulations of products to better visualize how the design will look in production.
- Maintain an organized digital library of design files and artwork, ensuring that all files are labeled correctly and stored in a logical and accessible manner.
Team Support
- Conduct design, field, and product research and share with internal teams.
- Work closely with the production team to ensure designs are manufactured to meet quality standards.
- Collaborate with the Sales team to develop strategies for product positioning and product presentations and marketing materials to support customer outreach and sales efforts
- Other duties as assigned.
Customer Support
- Provide customers with design options, product information, concepts and trends, and sample development.
- Use CAD software to create presentations to showcase new designs and demonstrate how they can be incorporated into existing collections.
- Maintain relationships with customers to highlight the Designer's role in ensuring that customers are satisfied with the products they receive.
- Resolve customer complaints and issues related to product quality, fit, or design, and work with the Sales and Production teams to identify solutions and prevent future issues.
What You Will Need
- Proficient with the Office 365 application, Adobe, and CAD software.
- Prefer candidate with some knitwear, or sock experience.
- Should be able to create CADs for Knit and soft accessories products.
- Shows ability to problem-solve and think independently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized and operates with a high level of autonomy and attention to detail.
- Take the initiative to identify tasks beyond your immediate workload.
- Proven ability to build and maintain relationships within an organization.
- Ability to work asynchronously and synchronously.
- Experience working with hybrid-remote and remote teams.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or High School Diploma and at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Compensation Pay Band
Designer I: $58,000 - $72,000
