Position Specifics The
Logistics and Warehouse Manager position is a key role requiring an enthusiastic self-starter with strong organizational skills and ability to balance immediate/long term priorities while managing multiple tasks. The Lummus Logistics and Warehouse Manager oversees the operations of all warehouses, including inventory and all shipping and receiving. This person will schedule and supervise other warehouse associates. The Logistics and Warehouse Manager processes invoices and shipping orders, while also maintaining warehouse inventory, including the day to day management of the warehouse operation, customer order fulfillment functions and associated processes/procedures. The Logistics and Warehouse Manager is responsible to develop and maintain a clear and scalable logistics strategy to support the growth of Lummus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Effectively manages the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and team through the operational team leaders
Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system
Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results
Manages all off site warehouses and is the primary liaison for those warehouses
Maintains physical condition of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement
Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees
Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
Responsible for investigating stock discrepancies, including negatives, un-found and sold out, and reporting the information to relevant managers including Finance
Responsible for maintaining the stock levels and re-ordering general consumables as agreed
Ensure the warehouse is compliant with current Health and Safety regulations and that the warehouse team is trained appropriately
Assigning Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), and/or Schedule B and ECCN classifications
Creating Bills of Lading (BOL) and shipping labels
Conducting internal audits to review import and export compliance
Managing shipments of in-house and vendor parts/assemblies
Any other reasonable duties as and when requested
Requirements 4+ years of experience in logistics and trade compliance with increasing responsibilities, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Able to analyze data, extrapolate insights and communicate findings clearly and concisely to management
Excellent problem solving and judgment to drive issue resolution in a timely manner; develops alternative solutions
Experience with managing and expediting parts delivery to meet customer deadlines
Proven knowledge of industry standard logistics and trade compliance regulations, including Free Trade Agreements, CFR Title 19, ACE, HTS classification
ISO 9000
Proficiency working with ERP systems
Proficient with MS Office suite - intermediate Excel skills
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university highly preferred
Working with all modes of transport to include LTL, T/L, freight forwarders, and brokers
Behavioral Traits Ability to self-manage in a dynamic environment with minimal oversight
Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail
Excellent organization, communication, and follow-up skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate efficiently despite frequent interruptions
