Job Description

PTS Logistics Group located in Atlanta GA, is a boutique low-volume, 3rdparty logistics company we have several positions for NON-CDL drivers for 26 box trucks and sprinter vans, primarily to deliver or pick up the shipments for business clients. May also load and unload if delivery also requires. Previous experience is a must. This position is for local and regional deliveries, home every night. Must be able to lift 75 lbsTask and Technology Skills. Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures. Read maps and follow written or verbal geographic directions. Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers. Load and unload trucks or vans.

Operating Vehicles or Equipment – Running, navigating, maneuvering vehicles, or equipment Pallet jacks.

Handling and Moving Objects – handling, installing, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating things.

Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates – Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person. Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers. Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance. Plan routes and meet delivery schedules. Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts. Input “macros” into our automated system for each stage of the loading and unloading process. Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures. Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions. Collect and verify delivery instructions. Report defects, accidents, or violations.

Proven work experience as a truck driver. Hands-on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units). Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly. Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations. No recent moving or driving violations. Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions, etc). Valid driver's license.
