The Division of Pediatrics, also known as MD Anderson Children's Cancer Hospital, has grown tremendously servicing more than 2,500 patients annually from around the world.
The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably at least one year of recent experience working in direct patient care. Shift/Schedule: two choices - three 12-hour shifts (36-hour work week) or four shifts with a mixture of 8 and 12 hour shifts (40-hour work week). Job Summary Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.
Scope Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.
Essential Job Functions Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs.
Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs.
Updates and retrieves patient information.
Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
Acts as part of an assigned care team.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Required: None.
Preferred: Experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant.
Licensure/Certification Required: None.
Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Other Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
