AHRI has an entry-level opening for a
Regulatory Analyst on our Government Affairs team. The Regulatory Analyst is a junior advisor on technical matters and related aspects of AHRI’s regulatory advocacy services. With guidance from the Director of Regulatory Affairs, the Regulatory Analyst will join a team of regulatory and government affairs professionals and play a key role assisting in the formation and implementation of energy and environmental policies. The Regulatory Analyst will work with the AHRI Policy Team to influence federal and state policymakers on key regulatory matters affecting the HVACR and water heating industry.
Duties include the following: - Analyze technical issues affecting AHRI members by reviewing impact of proposed standards, codes, federal and state regulations related to AHRI covered products
- Research and compose comment letters and position statements by consulting with members and AHRI team to determine AHRI position
- Provide insight, guidance, and relevant background information on technical issues to AHRI members and staff
- Monitor regulatory activities to identify those most likely to result in regulation on energy efficiency and environmental issues.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, political science, government affairs, applied math or a related field
- Minimum of one-year relevant work experience or graduate school experience with energy or environment; trade association experience a plus.
Competencies: - Strong analytical skills for supporting regulatory positions.
- Outstanding communication skills, evidenced by experience in communicating advocacy positions, including writing comments and/or testimony.
- Ability to effectively work with and through member committees, working groups, and task forces to accomplish AHRI goals.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under tight time constraints.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
AHRI offers a competitive salary and a full benefits package including tuition assistance and employer contributions to 401(k) and Roth(k) plans in a friendly work environment. This is not a remote position. At this time, we are only considering candidates local to the DC metro area. The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $67,500.00.
