ERG is seeking an experienced civil engineer to independently develop mechanical designs for renovations and upgrades to existing buildings at a federal site in Indian Head, Maryland. This position will be full-time at the federal site in Indian Head, MD, and will include interaction and support from ERG personnel at the federal site, as well as from ERG's Chantilly and Arlington offices. Alternative work schedules may be considered.Job Description:Plan, implement, or monitor preventative maintenance programs (e.g., inspections, testing, and maintenance) that comply with federal and local requirements and industry codes, standards, and guidelinesProvide engineering support toward documenting and/or troubleshooting operational issues with mechanical equipmentIdentify and work to proactively resolve any compliance issuesIdentify and document potential capital improvement projects necessary to improve operations by conducting site visits to document existing conditions, developing new requirements based on planned use, and creating preliminary scopes or budgetary cost estimatesPerform mechanical design reviews for facility improvement projects provided by third-party or in-house design effortsAssess compliance of design packages with applicable Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC), codes, and regulations as well as end-user requirementsKnowledge and experience working with related equipment and systems such as HVAC, pumps, compressors, and blowersCollaborate and communicate effectively with other stakeholders, internal and externalServe as a project manager on some assigned projectsQualifications and Skills:A Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (minimum GPA of 3.0)A Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred but not requiredAt least eight years of experience with a mechanical engineering degree or at least ten years of relevant experience and a degree in another engineering disciplineDemonstrated ability to collaborate/communicate effectively with internal/external stakeholdersExcellent verbal/written communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making skillsExperience working with AutoCAD and SolidWorksAbility to prioritize, perform, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environmentHave or be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security ClearanceExperience with Process Control Systems such as programmable logic controller (PLC) ladder logic and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming is a plusSpecific experience with Allen Bradley or Siemens systems is a plusA Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical EngineeringKnowledge to apply engineering skills toward process equipment, facility operations, and maintenance $100,000 - $165,000 a yearERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11-20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time) and more.
