About The Position - Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Intermediate Care Unit Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years; first timers not accepted License: GA or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH/NIHSS Must-Have: Availability to provide core items and complete/schedule labs within 48 hours of signing the contract. Job Description: - Care for a patient population ranging from adults to geriatrics. - Manage and treat conditions such as COVID-19, respiratory failure, DKA, renal failure, hypertension emergencies, CHF, post-carotid endarterectomy, post-surgical patients, sepsis, and stroke. - Handle and adjust various drips including amiodarone, Cardizem, precede, cardene, labetalol, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin, and Nitro. - Operate equipment such as Glucommander, trach to vents, BIPAPs, high flows, salters, art lines, and bedside cardiac monitors. - Facilitate rapid sequence intubation and manage patients on sedation and ETTs. - Manage low dose pressors if ICU overflow is needed. - Work with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 in a 16-bed unit with an average daily census of 16. - Utilize Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems. - Wear navy blue scrubs. - Work every other weekend and be available to work major holidays as specified. - Float to Cardiac Telemetry Unit and Med Surg Pulmonary unit if needed; ICU floating is possible with experience. - Complete an orientation of 13 hours. Additional Information:** - Full compliance required for timely start; delays could push back the start by two weeks due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule. - Compliance document deadline is the Tuesday before the start date. - References from two managers or higher positions are preferred at the time of application. - Required Time Off (RTO) is limited to a maximum of 7 days. Weekend and holiday work expectations as outlined in job requirements. - Local candidates welcome; same base rate applies. - Previous travelers are welcome to return after completing one successful assignment elsewhere.
